Mohamed Awad is an architect and Principal of Awad Associates – Design and Planning Consultants, and General Contractors. Awad Associates is a family firm that has been practicing since 1911. He is also an architectural and urban conservationist, and founder of the Alexandria Preservation Trust, an urban and architectural historian specialized in Alexandrian modern history, Dr. Awad has authored several publications on the Alexandrian built environment. He is a lecturer at the Department of Architecture, Alexandria University; Consultant to the Alexandria and Mediterranean Research Center at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Member of the Committee for the conservation of Alexandria, Member of the board of the Hellenistic Center at the B.A and the Archeological Society of Alexandria.
